Maybelline Eye Studio 24 Hour Eye Tattoo

Maybelline Eye Studio 24 Hour Eye Tattoo

The new Maybelline Eye Tattoos are a cream colour shadow. ( I've heard comparable to MAC paint pots although I done own any paint pots I cant compare them myself). They are creamy and highly pigmented and come in 10 beautiful shades. I own 6. They blend out easily and are easy to apply. You can use them with a brush but I find for a better colour pay off using your finger to pack the colour on works best. They last all day without creasing. They can be worn on their own or layered with shadows.

This is how Maybelline describes the new 24 hour Eye Tattoos:

Why You'll Love It

Dare to wear 24HR shadow.
• Ink technology creates 24HR wear shadow for our most intense, long-lasting colour saturation
• Cream formula glides on without creasing and keeps colour vibrant
• Ophthalmologist-tested.  Safe for sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers

The colours I own are:
05 Too Cool, 15 Audacious Asphalt, 25 Bad to the Bronze, 30 Pomegranate Punk, 40 Tenacious Teal, 35 Tough as Taupe.

Too Cool and Tough as Taupe are less creamy than the others and I find Tough as Taupe a little harder to blend as it sets quickly. Bad to the Bronze is one of my favourite colours and is by far the creamiest. I like to wear Tenacious Teal and Pomegranate Punk with a nude eye as winged liner setting the cream base with a matching shadow.

I would love to get the Bold Gold and the Painted Purple but they are sold out everywhere in my town :(

Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette

Urban Decay Naked 2 palette

As my addiction for high end makeup grows so does my collection! (lol funny how that works). My birthday is in mid January and once again my wonderful husband surprised me with the Naked 2 palette. As Sam Scheurman mentions in her review that she like both equally and my hubby just happened to be listening as I watched her review ( also my reaction to the original palette) he again went to Sephora but they didn't have any in stock. Waiting list...when he got the call they had received a new shipment it was a few days after my birthday so I was definitely surprised!! No wrapping paper necessary! Just that beautiful Sephora bag with the red paper sticking out the top!

The Naked 2 palette comes in this metal case where as the Naked palette comes with a soft brown velour case with magnetic closure. I really don't have a preference to which case I like better although the Naked 2 seems that it will be better for travelling.

The palette comes with 12 beautiful, highly pigmented, silky smooth neutral eye shadows. 2 matte and 10 glitter/shimmer shades. It also comes with a double ended shadow brush. Its great quality! On one end you have a smaller flat shader brush and on the other is a fluffy blending brush. I'm not a huge fan of double ended brushes as I like to store the upright in a container with beads but one end will get ruined so I have one lonely brush laying out :( This palette also comes with a sample size Urban Decay Lip Junkie in the colour Naked ( big surprise).

I'm not a big lipstick wearer. I may pick up a few and give them another try but I have 2 fairly dark freckles on my bottom lip that always seem to peek through my lipstick so I tend to use glosses so it doesn't look like I'm trying to hide anything....OK back to the Lip Junky...Its a beautiful sheer pinky brown and its somewhat minty. I do find its a little sticky for my liking.

On to the main event...The Shadows!!

From left to right they are:
Foxy, Half Baked, Bootycall, Chopper, Tease, Snakebite, Suspect, Pistol, Verve, YDK, Busted, Blackout.
|(Half Baked is the only repeat from the original palette).

Should have cleaned the mirror first :)

I have to say I love this palette! (as much as the original Naked palette) Half Baked and YDK do come off a little chunky so a light hand works best for those two shades. I also find the glitter in Chopper is a little big but still beautiful! I have nothing bad to say about either palette. Well worth the money for anyone who likes a neutral eye.

One'n Only Argan Oil

Argan oil

I have very fine curly hair. Its colour treated and I do have some grey hair. Its damaged from heat styling and dry well from being curly...As with my skin on my face I have an oily scalp which in turn makes my roots oily. I wear my hair straight about 98% of the time.

I heard alot of woman talk about how much argan oils helped their hair so...why not! Ill give it a try. I purchased a 3.4fl.oz. bottle at Sallys for $13.79. (kinda pricey) The bottle says: Oil treatment, instant shine, smoothness, frizz control colour protection and alcohol-free. It says its non greasy and absorbs into hair instantly.

Yep it does...

I put a pea sized drop and work it into the ends of my towel dried hair. Then blow dry and style as usual. Its made a HUGE improvement in the dryness and damage of me ends. LOVE IT!! The bottle says you can also add it to dry hair but for me it just make it greasy looking. I think this is a must have product and will definitely be repurchasing it. Well worth the money!

Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush

Maybellines new Dream Bouncy Blush

I watched some reviews on these "cream" blushes. The ones I watched before I purchased any myself loved them so I though OK I have to try these.

I went out and bought 05 Fresh Pink. The texture is like nothing I have ever tried before. Its firm but yes its bouncy. Ive heard them described as "memory ball" ish feeling but to me a memory ball is a foam that retains its original shape which this blush does not. You can push the product down and it will compress but does not come back to its original shape.

Colour 05 Fresh Pink

I have fair skin and whilst this colour 05 Fresh Pink is beautiful and thinking it would be perfect on fairer skin tones it just had no colour pay off. even with a generous application it simply was just not showing up :(

I watched a few haul videos and a few more reviews on this product and found a lot of people had the same issues as me. NO colour payoff. I decided to give it another chance and bought yet another one in hopes of some high pigments! ( also there were no testers where I bought them:(

Lets try again and this time with a darker shade! I bought 50 Plum Wine. The darkest I could fine. Its a beautiful dark rosy colour.

There!! That's a swatch with finger application but I prefer to use a medium stippling brush and I get this beautiful rosy glow. Sometimes I use a powder blush layered on top if I know I wont have a chance to touch up my makeup.

To the point...They have very beautiful shades but for me unless its super dark I just don't have use for it because its so sheer and you really cant see it on anyways. Will I buy any of the other shades...No. Plum wine was the darkest I found and even then its not that intense :(

China Glaze Nail Polish

China Glaze nail polish...WOW. Ive only ever used the less expensive nail polish from the drugstores. Which most have a good colour pay off but the chipping...oh the chipping! They would last me at most 3 days. Some brands/colours even less. Then I tried China Glaze.

Most are a very rich highly pigmented polish that will last me (with a base and top coat) a week or more. They have soooo many colours to choose from. Well I guess its time to build up my collection. Ill start with what I have thus far. (when my swatch wheels come in from eBay ill post swatches of all the colours but for now its just the bottles)

To start with is INNOCENCE this milky light pink shad. Its very pigmented and very glossy. I did have to apply 2 coats but well worth it!

Next up is Lubu Heels. Its more of a sheer black with deep fine red glitter. This polish will take 2-3 coats but the colour is bautiful!!

Next is Limbo Bimbo. This to me is the mother of all hot pinks!! Its super shiny and frosted. Highly pigmented and just a fantastic stand out colour!

And last is Chiaroscuro. I love love love this colour!! Its a very shimmery pinky coral champainge colour. Did I mention I love this colour? You can get away with one coat but with 2 its just heaven....

I dont know what else to say about these nail polishes or as the bottle says nail lacquers. They have beautiful shades, a huge seletion of colour choices, they are glossy, they wear so well lasting a full week if not more!

More China Glaze in my future? I think YES!!

(colour on my thumb in these pics is Wet n Wild megalast in Wet Cement:)

Betsey Johnson Too Too Perfume

The best and worst thing about Sephora is that with every purchase you receive SAMPLES!! I love samples ( I mean really who doesn't?). I received a sample of Betsey Johnson's perfume Too Too.

This perfume is described as :

Introducing Betsey Johnson's TooToo. A scentsational new fragrance from Betsey Johnson that's TooToo fabulous! Sparkling and juicy passionfruit and ginger dance with a twirling bouquet of jasmine, tuberose and rose, Betsey's new favourite blend!

I'm not sure if that's what I'm smelling but to me its delicious!! with the first spritz it smelled a little like alcohol but after a few seconds this amazing smell just wafts off my chest and OMG I just want to hold my shirt to my nose all day long! Its fruity and floral and just my fav! (at the moment)

Well I just had to...

...and yes my perfume is wearing its very own tutu!

Urban Decay Naked Palette

OK lets start with Urban Decays NAKED palette.
My wonderful hubby ventured into Sephora on his own and without me even mentioning it he picked out the naked palette for me for Christmas! Lets face it he is a guys guy and has no interest in makeup. Yet what a fantastic surprise!! I had been watching Sam Scheurman on YouTube ( he know how much I love her thanks Sam :) She was talking up the Naked palette and he overheard her review and stumbled his way through a busy Sephora (only one in our city) and found it for me. Before the naked palette I honestly only ever owned drugstore makeup. I repeatedly thanked him but told him he had made a huge mistake!! It has now sparked a love for high end makeup! lol

The Naked palette comes with a great medium flat shader brush, a sample size Urban Decay Primer Potion, and 12 highly pigmented silky smooth neutral eyeshadows. There are 2 matte colours and 10 shimmer/glittery colours.

From left to right they are:
Virgin, Sin, Naked, Sidecar, Buck, Half Baked, Smog, Dark Horse, Toasted, Hustle, Creep, Gunmetal.

The Brush that comes with this palette is a flat shader brush which is great for packing colour all over the lid and for adding highlight under the brow bone.

The primer that comes with this palette is the first primer I have used. Its a sheer flesh toned primer which definitely works great. I will be repurchasing this primer when my sample runs out. I know that they have changed the packaging to a squeeze tube. It come with a doe foot applicator but Ill have to cut the top off to get every last drop out. Definitely helps keep your shadows from creasing ( as I have oily lids), helps the colours pop and keeps my shadows on from morning until I wash it off before bed.

Lets get Started :) A little about me.

Well I thought I would start off my blog with something I am interested in and that is makeup. I will have some hauls and reviews for the next little while to get this blog up and going :) So to start....a little about me...I am a 28 year old mom of 2 boys. Ages 6 and 4. I am currently a stay home. Most things in my life are "all boy" so when I get the chance I like to be girly. I am 28 and my skin is showing my age. I have very oily skin. I don't have alot of acne but i do have some pigmentation problems along with some scaring. I love makeup. I have since I was a little girl. My mother was never one to wear makeup. She wore a little blush and lipstick on very special occasions. I think my love of makeup started with my grandma(Nanny). She was always a well put together woman who I looked up to. When she would come for a visit she would bring as much makeup as she could fit in her bags. She would put makeup on me so beautifully and I would put it on her ( not so beautifully lol but she wouldn't mind). She put my hair in rag curls and let me wear her perfume and always brought me samples of mary kay and avon and department store counters. As I dont have daughters or sisters what better place to start sharing my opinion of products than with anyone who will look! lol
